About the Role and Organization
An emerging nonprofit organization is pioneering a fresh approach to assist economically disadvantaged individuals in securing employment. Rather than positioning ourselves as experts, our platform promotes collaborative learning and model development with clients. The Program Coordinator plays a vital role by offering personalized guidance, facilitating group sessions, coordinating guest speakers, and exploring creative methods to enhance the job-seeking journey, making it as respectful and positive as possible.
Responsibilities
- Designing and refining program components responsive to their effectiveness in practice
- Assessing client needs and progress
- Providing personalized job counseling
- Reviewing and improving resumes
- Leading group sessions
- Organizing and facilitating evening events featuring guest speakers
- Maintaining clear and consistent communication within the team
- Keeping thorough documentation and records
Requirements
- A profound personal understanding of economic hardship, either through firsthand experience or close association
- A Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) from a U.S. institution
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel
- Familiarity with Google Workspace tools
- Innovative and resourceful problem-solving capabilities
- Diverse work experience including managing staff and groups
- Exceptional interpersonal skills and sound judgment
- A practical and optimistic mindset
- Street smarts with the ability to quickly and accurately evaluate situations
- Politeness and professionalism in demeanor
Working Hours and Compensation
The position involves working four days per week from 3 PM to 8 PM, compensated at a rate of $40 per hour.
