Role Overview

The Procurement Manager - Direct will lead the formulation and execution of sourcing strategies specifically for direct materials such as food, beverages, and packaging. The objective is to maximize cost-effectiveness while ensuring high-quality standards and timely supply. This position is pivotal in maintaining robust supplier partnerships, managing contracts, and promoting adherence to company and regulatory standards. Close collaboration with culinary and operational teams supports menu development and operational targets.

Key Responsibilities

• Create and apply sourcing plans for direct spend categories aligned with financial objectives.
• Oversee supplier interactions to guarantee product quality, dependability, and compliance.
• Conduct contract negotiations to secure advantageous pricing and terms.
• Track industry trends and commodity prices to anticipate procurement challenges and opportunities.
• Manage purchase orders and supplier delivery to ensure materials arrive as needed.
• Work jointly with culinary and operations teams to facilitate menu innovation and product launches.
• Lead initiatives to optimize costs without compromising quality or service standards.
• Maintain detailed procurement records for budgeting, reporting, and audit requirements.
• Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies to maintain supply chain stability.
• Champion continuous improvement efforts to streamline procurement workflows and supplier performance.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Procurement, Engineering, or related discipline.
• Preferred certifications in International Trade, Procurement, or Supply Chain Management.
• Advanced credentials in Procurement, Supply Chain, or Business Management considered a plus.

Experience Needed

• Over eight years engaged in procurement and sourcing roles, ideally in Food & Beverage, Restaurants, FMCG, or Consumer Goods sectors.
• Hands-on experience managing categories including food, beverages, packaging, and indirect expenditures.
• Proven expertise in strategic sourcing, negotiation, and contract oversight.
• Experience managing supplier relationships in both domestic and international markets.
• Track record of driving cost efficiencies, budget control, and procurement savings.
• Familiarity with ERP and procurement platforms such as SAP or Oracle.
• Knowledge of international trade processes and supply chain coordination.
• Experience collaborating across departments including Operations, Finance, Quality, and Supply Chain.
• Understanding of food safety, quality assurance, procurement rules, and compliance standards.
