Job Summary

This role is positioned within the Nuclear division, reporting to the GM - PPOC, responsible for comprehensive end-to-end process planning management. The successful candidate will lead the process planning activities for complex nuclear manufacturing projects, ensuring quality standards and adherence to manufacturing protocols.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze and interpret product drawings including geometric dimensions and tolerances to understand manufacturing requirements.
  • Design and define optimal manufacturing processes involving fabrication, machining, welding, assembly, and testing.
  • Select appropriate machinery, tools, and equipment considering capacity, accuracy, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Prepare detailed process documentation such as process sheets, operation sequences, and route cards for the production team.
  • Calculate machining times and production costs for accurate budgeting and quotations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including design, CNC programming, quality control, and production to ensure seamless workflow and resolve issues.
  • Monitor production activities to optimize processes, reduce costs, improve quality, and enhance efficiency.
  • Use SAP for process planning operations including creating and managing job routings and master schedules.
  • Ensure compliance with ISO 9001, AS9100, and related quality standards, maintain documentation, and support audits.
  • Implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) as necessary to maintain quality and process integrity.

Required Skills and Attributes

  • Strong knowledge of process design and optimization methodologies.
  • Proficiency in CAD software and ERP systems, particularly SAP.
  • In-depth familiarity with manufacturing processes, materials, tooling, and production machinery.
  • Understanding of industry standards including ISO, AS9100, ASME, and ASTM.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities to motivate and manage cross-functional teams.
  • Forward-looking mindset with emphasis on continuous process improvements.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities to preempt and resolve process challenges.
