About The Role
We are seeking a dedicated Process Operator to ensure the safe and smooth functioning of our processing plant located in Knockharley, Navan, Meath. This role involves operating and inspecting plant equipment, monitoring system performance, and addressing any faults or unusual conditions that arise. Additionally, you will assist with routine maintenance, cleaning, and site housekeeping to maintain safety, compliance, and operational efficiency.
This position is suited for individuals who are safety-focused, mechanically inclined, and comfortable working in a dynamic industrial environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely and efficiently operate plant and processing machinery.
- Conduct regular inspections of equipment and maintain accurate operational logs.
- Promptly report any incidents, damages, faults, or operational issues to management.
- Take necessary measures during abnormal or emergency situations to ensure safety.
- Carry out scheduled preventive maintenance activities.
- Support maintenance teams with repairs and upkeep tasks as needed.
- Collaborate with other operations and maintenance teams across the facility.
- Perform cleaning, painting, and general housekeeping duties around the site.
- Adhere strictly to company policies, operating guidelines, and safety regulations.
- Be available for overtime or extra hours during breakdowns, major maintenance, or unusual conditions.
- Undertake additional reasonable duties as directed by site management.
Candidate Profile
- Minimum educational qualification: Leaving Certificate or equivalent.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with confidence in using basic hand tools.
- Previous experience in manufacturing, plant operations, recycling, engineering, or industrial settings.
- Technical, mechanical training or apprenticeship background is an advantage.
- Ability to understand and follow operational procedures, safety guidelines, and maintenance documentation.
- Good communication skills to work effectively with supervisors and teammates.
- Basic numeracy skills to accurately maintain operational records.
- Practical, responsible approach to resolving problems.
- Confidence to take immediate, safe actions during emergency or unusual situations to protect people and equipment.
- Possession of relevant CSCS plant operation tickets (e.g., loaders, forklifts, MEWPs) is beneficial.
Work Environment
The role requires working in proximity to moving machinery and industrial equipment both indoors and outdoors, including potential work at height and exposure to confined spaces, dust, fumes, chemicals, heat, vibration, and noise variability. All necessary safety equipment, training, and procedures must be used and followed diligently.
