Overview

Spire Methley Park invites applications for the position of Porter available on a full-time, permanent basis at their healthcare facility in Methley, Leeds. The role entails providing crucial support within the hospital environment by assisting with patient movement and supporting hospital logistics.

Key Responsibilities

• Safely transfer and escort patients throughout the hospital in a compassionate, professional manner.
• Manage collection and delivery of clean and soiled linen.
• Handle disposal of domestic and clinical waste, with full infection control training provided.
• Support mail operations including sorting and franking.
• Contribute to maintaining security of hospital premises and surrounding areas.
• Deliver flowers and newspapers as needed.
• Arrange furniture and various equipment as required.
• Assist with stock and distribution tasks in stores.
• Help with receipt, inspection, storage, and distribution of goods across the hospital.
• Perform driving duties if assigned.
• Foster positive working relationships and effective communication within the hospital and team.
• Ensure all tasks are carried out with safety as a priority.
• Complete other duties appropriate to the level and nature of the position as requested.

Candidate Profile

• No formal qualifications are necessary; however, clear communication with staff and patients is essential.
• Presenting a professional appearance aligned with healthcare standards is required.
• A valid clean driving license is mandatory.
• Previous experience in frontline customer service and similar environments is desirable.
• Ability to understand diverse customer needs and prioritize urgent tasks efficiently.
• Exemplary customer service skills and demeanor.
