Role Overview
We are seeking a proactive Planning Engineer II to join our Project Controls team, focusing on scheduling, monitoring, and reporting for significant infrastructure projects. The role centers on ensuring precision in project timelines and effective schedule management from start to finish.
Key Responsibilities
- Create and maintain comprehensive project schedules using Primavera P6 software.
- Assist in the development of baseline schedules, Work Breakdown Structure (WBS), activity sequencing, and resource allocation.
- Track project progress, evaluate schedule adherence, and detect any deviations.
- Compile look-ahead schedules on a weekly, bi-weekly, and monthly basis.
- Generate progress reporting tools including S-Curves, dashboards, KPI reports, and resource histograms.
- Collaborate with Engineering, Procurement, Construction, QA/QC, and Site teams to gather updates on project progress.
- Support documentation and analysis related to delays, including Time Impact Analysis (TIA) and Extension of Time (EOT) claims.
- Contribute to forecasting, resource planning, and schedule recovery efforts.
- Monitor productivity metrics of manpower and equipment against planned objectives.
- Maintain accuracy and consistency of planning data aligned with project needs.
Candidate Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a closely related engineering field.
- 4 to 6 years of professional experience in planning and scheduling roles.
- Demonstrated background in infrastructure project environments.
- Experience working with a main contractor on large projects.
- Proficient in the use of Primavera P6.
- Solid comprehension of Critical Path Method (CPM), project controls, progress monitoring, delay analysis, TIA, EOT, resource loading, S-Curves, and KPI reporting.
- Strong skills in Microsoft Excel.
- Familiarity with Power BI preferred.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is advantageous.
Preferred Experience
Applicants with exposure to extensive infrastructure or giga projects such as roads, bridges, utilities, water and sewer networks, metro systems, or airports will be given preference due to the scale and complexity of these projects.
