We are currently searching for a skilled and motivated Permit Technician to join our professional team in Richland Parish, Louisiana. This position offers opportunities to engage in diverse assignments with the support of a resourceful and respected team handling challenging projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Engage effectively with all customers to address their building department requirements.
• Manage the permit process from application receipt through plan reviews, inspections, and final permit closure.
• Organize and maintain systematic records, including files, letters, manuals, inspection reports, permit documentation, blueprints, and drawings.
• Collaborate with plans examiners and inspectors to ensure consistent processes across departments.
• Support handling of public records requests and assist with record conversion efforts.

Skills and Knowledge

• Ability to interact positively with staff members, the general public, contractors, government entities, and other clients.
• Familiarity with full billing cycle processes is preferred.
• Strong time management, organizational, telephone, detail orientation, and interpersonal skills.
• Capability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, including handling frequent interruptions.
• Apply critical thinking, independent judgment, and technical knowledge in various job duties.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications is essential.
• Typing speed of at least 50 words per minute is required.

Education, Certifications, and Experience

• Minimum of two years’ experience in administrative and customer service roles.
• Experience in Permit Technician roles is a plus.
• Municipal permitting experience is advantageous.
• Holding an ICC Permit Technician certification is a beneficial credential.

Compensation and Benefits

The hourly wage for this position ranges from $23 to $27 per hour.
