Overview
Integrity Trade Services is seeking a Payroll Specialist for an immediate full-time position at a retail home improvement client in La Porte, IN. The role offers a competitive hourly wage of $28-$30 per hour, depending on experience, alongside comprehensive benefits provided upon hire.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and process weekly payroll data accurately, analysing details like per diem and travel expenses in collaboration with Human Resources.
- Generate detailed payroll reports on a weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual basis including figures for gross wages, hours worked, vacation accruals, and all tax and benefit deductions.
- Prepare and file tax forms such as W-2s, 1095s, and handle tax reconciliations as required.
- Ensure timely submission of monthly and quarterly withholding tax payments to relevant federal, state, and local tax agencies.
- Prepare various reports, correspondence, and charts necessary to support payroll and related functions, managing data in multiple software systems.
- Process unemployment claims, wage garnishments, and employment verifications efficiently while maintaining accurate employee records including training and DOT documentation.
- Handle multi-state payroll compliance including managing tax withholdings and payroll forms across multiple states, advising staff on relevant tax regulations.
- Examine and verify monthly healthcare invoices and allocate associated costs appropriately across divisions.
- Audit benefit rosters regularly to ensure correctness in employee participation and contribution amounts.
- Maintain confidentiality and security of sensitive payroll information and account credentials.
- Assist with other administrative duties including copying, scanning, printing, and providing phone-based and customer service support professionally to employees, management, and partners.
Qualifications
- At least 2 years experience in accounting or payroll functions and a minimum of 1 year in office administration, timekeeping, or related areas.
- Experience with payroll processing software and familiarity with multi-state payroll tax regulations.
- Strong organizational skills and good communication abilities combined with excellent customer service aptitude.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite and other common business applications.
- High school diploma or GED is required; associate degree is preferred.
- Compliance with physical and safety requirements, including the ability to lift and move office materials weighing up to 25 pounds.

Schedule and Location
This position is based onsite in La Porte, Indiana, with a work schedule from Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM.
