Job purpose

This role is responsible for building, maintaining, and improving detailed project schedules using Oracle Primavera P6. The planner also acts as a coordination point between project teams and support functions to keep plans aligned and smoothly rolled out.

Technical responsibilities

  • Keep Primavera P6 databases and schedules accurate and up to date.
  • Develop baseline schedules that reflect the approved scope of work and project milestones.
  • Set up activities, durations, dependencies, and schedule constraints.
  • Create work breakdown structures (WBS) for project planning.
  • Build critical path method (CPM) schedules.
  • Establish logic links and sequencing networks between activities.
  • Carry out schedule analysis and prepare related reports.
  • Produce histograms and forecasts for manpower needs.
  • Handle schedule revisions and prepare recovery programmes when required.

Site and operational responsibilities
