Descrição da vaga

Company Overview

INLEAP Photonics GmbH is an advanced technology firm specializing in cutting-edge ultra-fast laser beam steering technologies for applications ranging from industrial manufacturing enhancements to safety-critical drone defense systems. Founded as a spin-off from Laser Zentrum Hannover e. V., the company merges industrial-grade robustness with top-level expertise in optics and laser engineering.

Job Overview

We are looking to expand our optics development team with an Optical Engineer dedicated to refining and scaling the INLEAP® FASTLIGHT® technology platform. This technology supports both industrial usages and specialized safety scenarios like drone protection.

Key Responsibilities

  • Designing and simulating optical systems for innovative ultra-fast laser beam steering using tools such as Zemax OpticStudio or Quadoa, including performing tolerance analyses.
  • Characterizing laser sources and optical parts, analyzing wavefront and pointing stability, and validating system performance in real-time operational settings.
  • Developing modular and scalable optical assemblies for integration into partner hardware, including defining precise interface specifications.
  • Performing root cause analyses and optimizing optics to reduce aberrations, power loss, and thermal effects.
  • Collaborating closely with mechanical, electronics, and software teams to create integrated system solutions, including assembly and alignment strategies.

Qualifications and Required Skills

  • Master’s or diploma degree in physics, optics, or photonics with an emphasis on laser technology.
  • Hands-on experience in optics development related to industrial applications.
  • Knowledgeable in optical metrology techniques such as interferometry and beam profiling, and skilled in materials science relevant to optical components.
  • Expertise in scaling optics production for mass manufacturing, including tolerance management for cost efficiency and wavelength adaptation to develop new markets like e-mobility.
  • Practical mindset, proficiency in English, and capacity to thrive in agile, team-oriented startup environments.

Start Date

Immediate availability or as per mutual agreement.

What We Offer

  • Creative autonomy to contribute to advancing INLEAP® FASTLIGHT® technology.
  • An innovative atmosphere focused on ultra-fast pixel-based laser beam steering impacting electronics manufacturing and safety-critical domains.
  • Collaborative multidisciplinary teams with streamlined decision-making and a strong team spirit.
  • Flexible working hours combined with significant personal accountability and growth opportunities within a rapidly expanding tech firm.
  • A centrally located office in Hanover with excellent transport accessibility.
