Role Overview
This position is suitable for both newcomers and individuals with experience in underground mining or rock tools. The Operations Field Support role is stationed at an underground client mine site in Western Australia, focusing on customer service and supporting Rock Tools (ROTO) operations and coordination. Comprehensive training is provided to help you succeed and develop expertise in Sandvik-specific products and customer solutions, opening pathways to advanced operations roles or career shifts into sales, service, supervisory, or management positions. The role may follow a FIFO pattern or be residential based in Kalgoorlie; FIFO applicants must reside in Perth with dependable access to Perth Domestic Airport.
Key Duties
- Drive underground daily, managing delivery of drill consumables to rigs and drill sites
- Oversee inventories of drilling consumables
- Record daily operational data precisely using Sandvik’s iPad system
- Analyze and report on drill consumable performance, condition, and failure
- Engage positively with mining operators at client sites
- Sort, analyze, document, and service used drill bits and consumables
Mandatory Requirements
- Valid manual C Class Driver’s license
- Reliability to work an 8 days on/6 days off FIFO roster with 12-hour day shifts
- Physical fitness for role requirements, including lifting at least 40kg
- Clear police background check and pass drug testing
- Legal rights to work in Australia
- Strong customer service mindset with a positive attitude
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in teams
- Flexibility and resilience adapting to changing conditions
- Effective English communication skills
