Overview
This position is responsible for ensuring that the flight schedules operate safely, on time, and reliably, focusing on the efficient management of the A320, B787, and E190 aircraft within the Scoot network. The role requires both independent work and effective teamwork.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure all flight dispatches comply with company policies and Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS) regulations for safe operations.
- Perform continuous flight monitoring activities to anticipate and mitigate potential delays or disruptions.
- Optimize utilization of aircraft and crew resources.
- Coordinate changes and recovery plans for flying schedules to address disruptions.
- Manage daily operational tasks such as adjusting passenger loads (up-gauge/down-gauge) and communicating critical information to relevant stakeholders.
- Maximize aircraft utilization by adhering to turnaround times and minimizing unnecessary towing through scheduling strategies like 'Last in First out' for night-stopped aircraft.
- Comply with engineering, operational, and airport port requirements, considering aircraft-specific factors like low APD and low DOW where applicable.
- Adjust Aircraft Utilization Plans (AUP) promptly during disruptions to minimize delays and avoid airport curfew violations.
- Manage crew schedules in line with Airline Network Rules (ANR) and additional company policies.
- Ensure all flights are crewed appropriately within a 72-hour window, monitoring crew duty hours and rectifying scheduling violations.
- Support recruitment of Support Pilots for simulator training and monitor trainee progress during latter operational employment (LOE), informing the training department of any issues.
- Verify that pilot and cabin crew standby numbers meet minimum requirements and proactively address abnormalities that could cause flight delays, such as no-shows or illness.
- Respond quickly to operational disruptions by coordinating with crews and stations, devising repositioning plans where necessary, and updating affected parties with revised schedules.
- Maintain proper documentation procedures including submitting Advance Passenger Information System (APIS) data, preparing and verifying travel documents in relevant systems such as Merlot, and monitoring expiry of required certifications.
- Conduct flight watch duties to monitor aircraft positions, manage flight timing updates, investigate delay causes, engage with airport stations if movements are unclear, and track flights via communication systems like SITA, ACARS, and VHF radio.
Candidate Requirements
- A bachelor's degree in any field.
- Ability and willingness to work 12-hour rotating shifts including weekends, holidays, and alternating days off.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills with proven capability to manage multiple tasks independently.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office and aptitude for learning complex aviation scheduling software.
- Experience in operations environments and knowledge of AIMS rostering system is advantageous.
