Position Overview
The role of Night Shift Supervisor at Delta Hotels and Resorts involves overseeing front desk operations during nighttime hours to ensure smooth guest service experiences. The supervisor is responsible for administrative tasks, guest interactions, team coordination, and maintaining high standards of hospitality and safety.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Prepare and finalize cashier and closing reports using the computer system.
- Inspect shift logs and daily memo books; document relevant information in logbooks for continuity.
- Communicate with departments such as Bellperson or Housekeeping to resolve guest requests or issues.
- Manage guest check-ins by confirming reservations, verifying identity, handling payments, assigning rooms, and issuing room keys.
- Offer and sell accommodations to guests without prior reservations based on room availability.
- Ensure room rates comply with market codes and record any exceptions carefully.
- Process outlet charges (e.g., Health Club, Retail Shop) correctly by scanning and adding to the guest room bill.
- Support management in staff training, evaluations, counseling, disciplinary action, motivation, and coaching.
- Serve as an example and first point of contact for the Guarantee of Fair Treatment/Open Door Policy.
- Report workplace incidents, unsafe conditions, and complete required safety training and certifications.
- Adhere to company policies including dress code and confidentiality standards.
- Greet and acknowledge guests warmly, anticipate their needs, offer assistance, including for guests with disabilities, and conclude interactions with genuine appreciation.
- Maintain professionalism in verbal communication and telephone etiquette.
- Foster positive working relationships with colleagues to ensure teamwork and quality service.
- Meet quality standards consistently throughout the shift.
- Physically able to stand, sit, or walk for extended periods and move items weighing up to 25 pounds without assistance.
- Perform additional reasonable tasks as directed by supervisors.
Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum education: High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- At least one year of relevant work experience in guest services or a related field.
- At least one year of supervisory experience overseeing team members.
- No specific license or certification required.
