Position Overview
Join Air New Zealand as a Network Planning Specialist and contribute to shaping the airline's global route network. This role is pivotal in pinpointing avenues for growth, enhancing the efficiency of our route network, and supporting commercial decisions that connect New Zealand to the rest of the world. Your Impact
- Drive and coordinate initiatives to enhance our international route portfolio in collaboration with various stakeholders to achieve successful commercial outcomes.
- Utilize industry-standard planning tools and modeling techniques to analyze network opportunities that boost commercial performance.
- Create forecasts and develop business cases to support informed decisions regarding network routes and scheduling.
- Collaborate closely with departments across Commercial, Revenue Management, Fleet Planning, Finance, and Operations to produce cohesive network strategies.
- Track competitor flight schedules, analyze market trends, and monitor network performance to spot new opportunities and possible risks.
- Share insights and foster best practices that contribute to the ongoing improvement of the Network Planning team.
Qualifications
- A minimum of three years’ experience in airline network planning or a comparable commercial analytical role such as revenue management, strategy, or commercial planning is required.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities capable of transforming data into actionable commercial insights.
- Proven experience creating forecasts, business cases, or analyses supporting business decision making.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to develop effective working relationships and collaborate across multiple teams.
- Confident communicator who can clearly present insights to a variety of audiences.
- Familiarity with network planning tools or analytical modelling methods is advantageous but not mandatory.
