Job description
Overview
This role involves supervising and organizing maintenance activities for live, inert, and dummy munitions, as well as associated support equipment and facilities. The position requires command and control functions related to explosives, utilizing the Combat Ammunition System (CAS) to monitor asset status and facilitate planning and operational actions.
Key Duties
- Supervise routine and contingency planning within the Munitions Department, managing workload and production to meet contractual obligations.
- Monitor the status and capability of facilities, vehicles, equipment, and munitions resources to ensure mission readiness.
- Collaborate with Section supervisors to manage awaiting maintenance (AWM), awaiting parts (AWP), and Time Compliance Technical Order (TCTO) programs, reviewing progress weekly.
- Coordinate TCTO requirements with both munitions accountability and maintenance supply liaisons and participate in TCTO planning and reconciliation meetings.
- Develop consolidated forecasts and schedules for munitions maintenance and inspections across various timeframes including yearly, quarterly, monthly, and weekly.
- Maintain documentation of delayed discrepancies related to munitions and equipment and coordinate approved corrective actions and disposal/shipment timelines.
- Prepare recurring reports for submission to the Munitions Superintendent and collaborate with the AEW Munitions Flight for workload scheduling and support integration.
- Analyze demand inputs to prioritize support for AEW AMMO Flight; communicate scheduling conflicts as necessary.
- Directly input data into CAS ensuring proper document routing procedures are followed.
- Manage access control via keys and locks following Air Force Instruction (AFI) 21-201 standards.
- Utilize Emergency Action Check sheets for various contingency scenarios including war plans, fires, and explosive mishaps.
- Monitor explosive operation progress to track workforce status and notify relevant personnel before hazardous activities or drills.
Qualifications
- Active U.S. Secret Security Clearance - Interim clearances are not acceptable.
- Must pass Pre-Medical Screening and a 7-Panel Drug Test.
- Four years of military experience with munitions, specifically Air Force Specialty Code 2W0X1.
- Expertise in USAF supply and technical order systems related to munitions and maintenance equipment.
- Proficiency using Combat Ammunition System for storage, maintenance, and inspection management.
- Ability to perform efficiently under pressure with clear and effective communication skills.
- Computer proficiency for operational tasks.
- Eligibility to obtain a host nation driver’s license in the UAE.
