Role Overview

This position is for a Microsoft Cloud Operations & Support Engineer to join the Managed Services team. The role involves daily operational support, monitoring, and optimization of client environments within Azure and Microsoft 365 ecosystems. Responsibilities include ensuring platform reliability, maintaining security standards, optimizing costs, and providing superior support to SMB and mid-market clients in a multi-tenant environment. Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee Azure resource monitoring and management to assure availability, reliability, and strong performance.
  • Conduct incident triage, troubleshooting, and resolution for IaaS and PaaS services.
  • Implement cost analysis, anomaly detection, and provide optimization advice for Azure infrastructure including VMs, networking, storage, and resource governance.
  • Manage Microsoft 365 tenant health including user administration, service configurations, identity and access with Entra ID/Azure AD, multifactor authentication, and conditional access.
  • Serve as primary escalation for Azure, Microsoft 365, and Copilot-related incidents across client accounts.
  • Troubleshoot complex issues related to identity, access policies, and user experience.
  • Create and update knowledge base articles, playbooks, and support documentation.
  • Define and improve collaborative support processes with clients and third-party vendors.
  • Develop self-service tools and user guides to promote client adoption and minimize support overhead.
  • Track and assess new Copilot features for client impact and allied deployment.
  • Maintain Microsoft 365 services including Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, and endpoint management via Intune.
  • Automate workflows using cloud monitoring and ITSM platform integrations.
  • Analyze license utilization and suggest cost optimizations.
  • Monitor security and compliance using Microsoft Defender and cloud security tools, managing multi-tenant security via Azure Lighthouse and CIPP.
  • Improve security posture through Secure Score tracking, threat detection, identity security, and incident response.
  • Provide business hours support with an on-call rotation for critical incidents compensated extra.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders for service improvement and delivery.
  • Act as a trusted consultant aligning Copilot capabilities with business objectives.

Required Qualifications
