Role Overview
Reporting to the Engineering/Process Improvement Manager, the Mechanical Engineer will be tasked with maintaining, installing, adjusting, and optimizing precision manufacturing equipment, emphasizing mechanical reliability and performance. This includes preventative, corrective, and predictive maintenance of laser cutting, film casting, and automated inspection systems, resolving mechanical and electro-mechanical issues to ensure minimal downtime and high equipment availability.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct maintenance (preventive, corrective, predictive) on diverse manufacturing equipment including laser cutters and film processing machines.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, pneumatic, and basic electro-mechanical problems to minimize operational disruptions.
- Set up, calibrate, and fine-tune machines to comply with production standards, enhancing stability and yield.
- Lead installation and commissioning of new equipment, ensuring proper mechanical assembly, alignment, and integration with automation.
- Implement machine improvements to boost reliability and drive continuous enhancement initiatives aimed at defect reduction and efficiency.
- Coordinate with contractors and vendors for servicing and installation while enforcing safety and quality regulations.
- Maintain thorough documentation including maintenance logs, SOPs, and compliance records.
- Work closely with production, quality, and operations teams to provide technical support and operator training.
Candidate Profile
- Possess a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Have between 2 to 5 years experience in manufacturing or industrial environments with strong mechanical maintenance skills.
- Experience with automated manufacturing equipment is advantageous.
- Demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Be proficient in English communication, both written and spoken.
