Role Summary
The Master Data Officer will manage the creation, upkeep, governance, and ongoing improvement of master data within the Finance Hub. This role ensures master data is precise, thorough, and consistent, adhering to governance policies to support smooth business operations, accurate financial reporting, and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Accurately create, update, and maintain master records within designated service timelines.
- Assess and validate master data submissions for completeness and conformity with established guidelines.
- Conduct regular data quality audits including reviews, validations, and cleansing efforts.
- Generate reports and perform master data analyses to detect trends, risks, and areas for enhancement.
- Collaborate closely with Finance, Procurement, Sales, IT, and other departments to address data discrepancies.
- Support initiatives related to data governance, internal controls, and audit compliance.
- Engage in process improvements, system updates, and testing activities within Requisition-to-Pay (R2P) or Order-to-Cash (O2C) functions.
- Adhere to the SGS Code of Integrity and Professional Conduct in all duties.
- Perform additional tasks assigned by the R2P or O2C Manager.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business IT, Information Systems, or a related discipline from a recognized university.
- Minimum of two years’ experience in Master Data Management, Finance Operations, or Shared Services roles.
- Familiarity with ERP platforms such as Oracle E-Business Suite, Oracle Fusion, or SAP is advantageous.
- Strong skills in reporting and data analysis.

- Proficient computer skills including MS Office and Excel are valuable.
- Self-motivated, decisive, and able to meet strict deadlines.
- Capable of working independently and collaboratively within team settings.
