A prominent regional bank is seeking an experienced Managing Director for Group Credit to spearhead their credit strategy and oversee risk management. This pivotal leadership role focuses on setting the bank’s credit policies, fostering portfolio expansion, and upholding a robust risk governance framework across various lending portfolios.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement the bank’s comprehensive credit strategy to align with corporate goals.
• Lead and inspire a global team to cultivate a high-performing, risk-conscious culture.
• Manage all facets of credit risk, including underwriting criteria, portfolio integrity, and credit assessment processes.
• Deploy sophisticated credit analytics and risk evaluation models to improve decision-making capabilities.
• Collaborate with business units to develop credit products that support sustainable growth in retail, SME, and corporate sectors.
• Work closely with regulatory authorities to ensure adherence to credit regulations and policies.
• Provide regular reports on credit risk and portfolio status to the executive committee and Board of Directors.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• Extensive leadership experience in credit functions within the banking industry, especially familiar with Central and Eastern European markets.
• Strong background in corporate and wholesale banking.
• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, or related discipline.
• 15 to 20 years of experience in credit roles, including at least a decade in senior management at a top-tier bank.
• Expertise in credit risk management, regulatory compliance frameworks, and strategic portfolio oversight.
• Exceptional analytical skills coupled with effective leadership and stakeholder engagement capabilities.
• Proven record of growing and managing credit operations in multifaceted, dynamic settings.
