Join our dynamic Legal & Public Policy Team as Litigation Counsel, where you'll play a critical role in overseeing diverse litigation and pre-litigation disputes across the APAC region, mainly in India.

Job Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage the full spectrum of litigation and pre-litigation disputes within India.
  • Thoroughly analyze both business and legal aspects of cases to guide strategic decisions and tactical approaches.
  • Compile a comprehensive evidentiary record by investigating internal information sources.
  • Handle subpoenas, regulatory inquiries, and related legal processes.
  • Provide support and advice to India Grievance and Compliance officers for government takedown requests and user-related disputes.
  • Advise the Nodal officer and law enforcement response teams on India law enforcement requests.
  • Deliver practical legal guidance on product issues influenced by ongoing or potential litigation.
  • Collaborate with and manage external counsel and vendors to secure expert, efficient litigation services and advice.
  • Contribute actively as a committed member of our collaborative and vibrant Legal & Public Policy Team, advancing LinkedIn’s mission to connect professionals globally.

Required Qualifications

  • LL.B or LL.M degree from an accredited university with admission to the bar and a valid Certificate of Practice.
  • At least 3 years of combined litigation experience in law firms, corporate legal departments, or government agencies.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience in litigation before courts and tribunals.
  • Comprehensive litigation background including discovery, motion practice, oral arguments, trials, brief drafting, pre-suit efforts, mediation, and settlements.
  • Experience in privacy and technology law areas.
  • Familiarity with handling complex technical subject matter.
  • Exposure to in-house legal work at technology companies or serving global technology clients closely.
  • Strong interpersonal skills enabling effective independent and collaborative work to achieve results.
  • Excellent judgment, analytical thinking, high integrity, and a good sense of humor.
