About the Role
KBL Environmental Ltd., recognized as one of Canada's Best Managed Companies and the largest environmental waste management company in Western Canada, is seeking a Labourer/Driver to operate from Yellowknife, NT. Reporting to the Lead Hand and Facility Manager, this role demands adherence to safety practices when handling hazardous materials and proficiency operating various sizes of equipment. This position involves physically demanding outdoor work in diverse weather conditions. Duties include managing waste safely and efficiently, repackaging and consolidating materials according to Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) regulations, loading/unloading trucks, and handling pickups and drop-offs.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and prepare waste complying with legislation and TDG standards.
- Deliver excellent customer service onsite and during company representation externally.
- Inspect equipment regularly and perform maintenance to maintain safety standards.
- Provide Supervisors with necessary information to complete documentation like load sheets and inventory reports.
- Manage loading and unloading of trailers and oversee customer drop-offs proficiently.
- Follow Safe Work Practices (SWPs), Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and report incidents quickly.
- Work independently at remote sites as required.
- Operate a range of equipment safely, including forklifts, rubber-tired loaders, pallet jacks, skid steers, processing equipment, and hand tools.
- Be prepared to travel as project demands require.

- Dependable, hardworking, with a strong focus on safety.
- Excellent communicator and cooperative team member.
- Punctual and self-motivated with ability to work independently.
- Comfortable performing outdoor work in all weather types.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Valid Class 5 driver’s license with a clean driving record; Class 3 preferred.
- Physical ability to frequently lift up to 50 pounds.
- Strong commitment to safety and reliability in work performance.
- Previous labour or driving experience in Northern regions is beneficial.
