The Helier by Oceania offers premium luxury retirement living in St Heliers, Auckland, providing residents with exceptional care, personalized services, and excellent amenities. We are seeking a dedicated Kitchen Assistant to support our Head Chef and Sous Chef in managing daily kitchen activities. This role is ideal for someone eager to learn, reliable, and enthusiastic about working in an energetic kitchen environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Support daily kitchen functions including food preparation, cooking tasks, stock control, and ensuring health and safety protocols are met.
• Stay familiar with menu items and any event-related changes.
• Maintain adequate stock levels ensuring quality and quantity standards.
• Follow established kitchen standards and safety leadership procedures.
• Provide outstanding customer service to our residents.
• Commit to continual personal and professional growth.
• Maintain kitchen cleanliness by washing dishes and keeping the environment spotless.

Qualifications and Skills

• Demonstrated passion and experience delivering high-quality customer service.
• Completion of Level 3 National Certificate in Hospitality (Professional Cookery) is required.
• Strong integrity, honesty, and reliability.
• Effective teamwork and interpersonal abilities.
• Previous food preparation experience is beneficial but not compulsory.
