Your Team

You will become a valued member of the North America Contracts team, which includes professionals from the United States and Canada. Carta Law, as the largest AI-driven law firm for private capital created from Avantia Law and Carta, employs lawyers and paralegals working closely with embedded AI to expedite investor onboarding, transaction KYC, and high-volume legal activities with unprecedented speed and consistency.

Role Responsibilities

• Assist lawyers by performing initial reviews and markups of investment-related NDAs and other commercial agreements.
• Oversee document management processes, ensure timely tracking of deadlines, communicate effectively with involved parties, and coordinate contract execution.
• Collaborate closely with attorneys and senior paralegals to maintain exceptional client service amidst dynamic and demanding workloads.
• Develop your expertise in commercial and legal fields progressively, with potential to take on ownership of client portfolios and pursue professional qualification through the Solicitors Qualifying Examination (SQE) pathway.

Candidate Profile

• Preferably holds a bachelor's degree in law or an equivalent qualification; prior experience with NDAs or KYC procedures is advantageous but not essential.
• Highly motivated, inquisitive, and eager to cultivate specialized knowledge within legal practice areas such as compliance, contracts, or fund administration.
• Detail-oriented and proficient in prioritizing tasks, managing multiple deadlines efficiently, and ensuring consistent progression of cases.
• Strong verbal and written communicator capable of delivering concise, clear, and professional advice matching client expectations.
• Self-driven with the ability to work independently, initiate tasks proactively, and identify potential issues before they arise.
• Effective team collaborator who interacts well with legal and client-facing colleagues in a fast-paced setting.

Compensation and Benefits

The role offers a competitive salary ranging approximately between 78,000 and 97,600 Canadian dollars annually, specific to the Toronto location. Comprehensive benefits including equity opportunities are provided for full-time entry points, along with commission structures where applicable. Actual compensation packages may vary depending on location, individual experience, expertise, and other relevant factors.
