Junior CAD Engineer

Overview

Enigmasoft Technologies invites applications for a Junior CAD Engineer to join their Research & Development team based in Verna, Goa. This full-time position focuses on CAD modelling, rapid prototyping, and supporting the mechanical design needs of clean energy and advanced engineering projects such as solar photovoltaic systems, Organic Rankine Cycle systems, and carbon-capture technologies.

Key Responsibilities

• Create and refine precise 3D CAD models of mechanical parts, assemblies, fixtures, and prototype units.
• Translate engineering sketches and concepts into well-structured parametric CAD models suited for quick iteration.
• Assemble and check models for proper fit, accessibility, and mechanical coherence.
• Generate detailed 2D manufacturing drawings and bills of materials, ensuring clarity in dimensions, tolerances, and material specifications.
• Prepare CAD files compatible with various prototyping methods including 3D printing, CNC machining, laser cutting, and sheet-metal fabrication.
• Collaborate with fabrication teams and vendors to verify design and manufacturing requirements and resolve issues.
• Update models and documentation based on prototype testing, design reviews, and field feedback.
• Organize and maintain CAD libraries, revision control, and coordinate cross-functional information flow.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Industrial Design, or equivalent disciplines.
• Between zero to four years' experience in mechanical design, CAD modelling, rapid prototyping, or related roles.
• Recent graduates with practical CAD experience through projects, internships, or competitions are encouraged to apply.
• Submission of a portfolio showcasing CAD models, drawings, or prototypes is advantageous.

Skills and Competencies

• Proficiency in 3D CAD parametric modelling and assembly design.
• Experience with Fusion 360 preferred; SolidWorks or similar CAD software acceptable.
• Good grasp of mechanical engineering principles including fits, clearances, and tolerances.
• Capability to produce manufacturing-ready documentation and detailed part drawings.
• Familiarity with rapid prototyping methods such as 3D printing, CNC machining, and sheet-metal fabrication.
• Strong attention to detail and disciplined file and revision management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple assignments under tight deadlines and accept technical feedback.
• Effective communication and coordination with multidisciplinary teams and manufacturing partners.

Candidate Profile

• Enthusiastic about mechanical engineering, testing, hands-on prototyping, and problem-solving.
• Strong foundation in materials, manufacturing processes, and physics related to mechanical design.
• Interest or experience in practical engineering hobbies, personal projects, or technical competitions is preferred.
• Motivated, adaptable, and able to thrive in a dynamic R&D environment requiring iterative design and experimentation.
• Collaborative and willing to contribute beyond the core CAD tasks.
