Job description
Role Overview
Based in Belfast, this full-time, onsite position involves working Monday through Friday for 40 hours weekly and offers a competitive salary. The Joiner will be integral to providing innovative facilities management solutions, operating in a dynamic environment where responsive maintenance, general joinery, and handyman tasks are vital.
Key Responsibilities
- Handle urgent maintenance requests such as joinery repairs, staging and caster wheel replacements, and other handyman duties following thorough surveys and fault diagnosis.
- Execute roofing repairs including fixing leaks and damages to maintain structural soundness, undertake reactive gutter cleaning and downspout upkeep safely.
- Perform an array of handyman activities, including painting, drywall patching, basic plumbing repairs such as leak fixing and drain unclogging, installation of fixtures and shelving, as well as furniture or office relocations.
- Deliver top-quality customer service by professionally interacting with clients, addressing their concerns, and explaining maintenance and repair processes to exceed expectations.
- Conduct planned preventative maintenance tasks such as inspecting fire doors, gutters, roofs, and windows across estates to ensure ongoing functionality and compliance.
- Collaborate effectively with fellow facilities management team members including technicians, supervisors, and project managers to coordinate and prioritize jobs ensuring superior project outcomes.
- Perform regular inspections, tests, and maintenance on emergency lighting systems including exit signs; replace faulty components such as lamps, batteries, ballasts, and fittings, ensuring all fixtures are correctly positioned and unobstructed.
- Maintain meticulous documentation of all lighting inspections and repairs, stay updated with safety standards, promptly report hazards, and resolve emergency lighting malfunctions.
Qualifications and Experience
- Proven experience as a joiner and handyman specializing in response maintenance work.
- Comprehensive knowledge of surveying, fault finding, roofing repair, and general joinery techniques.
- Certification or apprenticeship completion in joinery.
- Possession of a valid UK Driving Licence.
