Role overview

This position is for a mid-level Java Developer who will design, build, and support Java-based applications. You will be involved throughout the software development lifecycle, from initial idea through to deployment and ongoing enhancement. The role suits a motivated developer looking to progress in a challenging and rewarding setting.

Key responsibilities

• Build and maintain reliable, high-quality Java applications.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams to plan, design, and deliver new features.
• Produce efficient, well-structured, and testable code.
• Review code written by peers and share helpful, constructive feedback.
• Support application speed, stability, quality, and responsiveness.
• Track down performance issues and resolve bugs or bottlenecks.
• Take part in agile ceremonies such as daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospectives.
• Contribute ideas for continuous improvement and innovation within the team.

Required skills and experience

Essential:

• 3 to 5 years of experience in a similar Java development role.
• Strong grasp of object-oriented programming and design patterns.
• Solid knowledge of Java SE and Java EE.
• Hands-on experience with frameworks such as Spring and Hibernate, or equivalent tools.
• Understanding of RESTful APIs and web services.
• Working knowledge of SQL and databases such as MySQL.
• Experience using version control tools, preferably Git.
• Familiarity with agile development methods, including Scrum.

Preferred:

• Exposure to front-end technologies including HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, plus frameworks like Angular or React.
• Experience with cloud services such as AWS.
• Knowledge of microservices and container technologies like Docker or Kubernetes.
• Awareness of DevOps tooling and CI/CD delivery pipelines.
• Testing experience with tools such as JUnit or TestNG.
• Exposure to NoSQL databases such as MongoDB.
