Role Overview
The Mining & Metals Investment Banking team at NBCCM in London is seeking a motivated Investment Banking Intern to assist with deal origination and execution. This role offers significant exposure to complex advisory and financing transactions, with responsibilities expanding progressively to support specialist sector activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze and evaluate corporate clients' financial needs including financial modeling and valuation work.
- Support deal teams in structuring transactions and executing advisory and financing mandates.
- Prepare client-facing presentation materials such as pitch books and strategic decision documents.
- Contribute to drafting marketing content, investor presentations, prospectuses, and offering memoranda.
- Conduct in-depth company, industry, commodity, and market research focused on the mining and metals sector.
- Assist senior colleagues with deal execution, project coordination, and client coverage.
- Maintain financial databases and assist in compiling internal and external business reports.
Candidate Profile
- Currently studying or recently graduated with a degree in finance, accounting, economics, business, engineering, or related areas.
- Strong academic background with solid analytical and quantitative skills.
- Previous internship or work experience in investment banking, corporate finance, transaction advisory, equity research, consulting, or capital markets is advantageous.
- Keen interest in mining & metals or wider natural resources industries.
- Fundamental understanding of financial statements, valuation techniques, and capital markets operations.
- Proficient with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
- Knowledge of Bloomberg, Capital IQ, FactSet, or similar financial databases is a plus.
- Detail-oriented, well-organized, and capable of managing various priorities simultaneously.
- Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
- Team-oriented, proactive, and eager to learn in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
