About the Role

As an Instrument Technician III, you will play a key role in overseeing the maintenance and reliability of Instrument systems and assets within process units to ensure smooth and uninterrupted plant operations. This position requires extensive hands-on technical and leadership skills to guide a team of maintenance technicians in implementing both preventive and corrective maintenance in a safe and efficient manner.

Main Responsibilities

  • Supervise and direct a team of maintenance technicians to execute preventive and breakdown maintenance for Instrument systems across process units.
  • Ensure adherence to established maintenance schedules—including monthly and weekly plans—and report on progress regularly.
  • Carry out onsite repairs and maintenance on various Instrument devices, including but not limited to generators, transformers, and motors.
  • Monitor ongoing maintenance activities, ensuring they meet required standards, safety protocols, manufacturer guidelines, and contractual obligations.
  • Act as the focal point for daily Instrument maintenance execution, ensuring smooth coordination of tasks within assigned areas.
  • Conduct regular field inspections to observe work quality and technician productivity during routine maintenance.
  • Prepare accurate progress and completion reports on Instrument maintenance projects, with recommendations for improvements or modifications as required.
  • Support the integration of engineering updates and enhancements to Instrument assets by proposing solutions to improve system performance and reliability.

Candidate Requirements

  • Diploma or bachelor’s degree is required.
  • At least 2 to 4 years of experience in Oil & Gas facility maintenance, especially working on Instrument systems.
  • Comprehensive technical understanding of operating, maintaining, and repairing Instrument, mechanical, and electrohydraulic systems.
  • In-depth knowledge of safety practices, industry standards, and regulatory requirements relating to maintenance activities.
  • Demonstrated experience supervising teams and optimizing maintenance operations in a large-scale organization.
  • Excellent communication skills in spoken and written English.
  • Organizational and problem-solving abilities to meet business outcomes in a multi-cultural, high-pressure setting.

Skills and Knowledge

  • Solid background in Instrument equipment design, installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
  • Capability to implement best safety practices and contribute to Health, Safety, and Environmental conservation.
