Overview
Allocate is building a platform that helps RIAs and family offices discover, model, and manage exposure to private markets with less friction. The product combines curated fund and co-investment opportunities with institutional-level infrastructure for tracking, analytics, and administration across venture capital, private equity, private credit, and other private asset classes.
The company is hiring an IT Specialist to strengthen its internal technology operations. The role focuses on system upgrades, user support, and improving IT infrastructure so it continues to support business priorities. It is suited to someone who enjoys hands-on problem solving, operational efficiency, and helping protect digital assets in a fast-moving environment.
Role Summary
This is a broad IT position with three major focus areas: daily troubleshooting and end-user support; systems and infrastructure administration across SaaS, identity, and device management tools; and security-oriented operational work that supports SOC 2 compliance. You will act as the main internal IT contact for a workforce of more than 80 employees working both in-office and remotely, while also coordinating tasks and escalations with the managed service provider.
Security is expected to be part of every IT activity, including provisioning, asset handling, and vendor coordination. The right person will be comfortable switching between support tickets and systems work, will approach operations with a strong security mindset, and will thrive in a high-growth fintech setting.
Responsibilities
- Deliver Tier 1 and Tier 2 support for hardware, software, and SaaS tools used by both office-based and remote employees.
- Partner with the MSP to set up new users, devices, accounts, and software access.
- Handle employee technical issues through support tickets and direct troubleshooting.
- Resolve problems related to connectivity, access, and everyday productivity platforms such as Google Workspace, Slack, and other core SaaS tools.
- Run guidance or training sessions on IT systems, security habits, and proper tool usage.
- Keep IT runbooks, internal documentation, and knowledge base content current and useful.
- Manage user onboarding, offboarding, permissions, and access control across internal systems and SaaS applications.
- Support software provisioning and deprovisioning across the company’s application stack.
- Install, maintain, and update applications while preserving compatibility and protecting data.
- Look for ways to improve license utilization and reduce operating costs.
- Work with vendors for devices, warranty support, and external service needs.
- Maintain accurate asset inventory records and hardware tracking workflows.
- Coordinate with the MSP on escalations, infrastructure tasks, and project delivery.
- Support security operations by helping with access review records, MFA enforcement, and endpoint compliance checks.
- Help preserve evidence needed for SOC 2 Type II compliance across Security, Availability, and Confidentiality criteria.
- Review log data to identify risks earlier and to improve system performance.
- Monitor endpoint management and security alerts and respond appropriately.
- Contribute to security initiatives under the direction of the Information Security function.
- Assist in enforcing IT and security policies and help update policy documentation when needed.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline, or equivalent hands-on experience.
- 3–5 years of experience in an IT Specialist, IT Administrator, technical support, systems analysis, or network administration role.
- Working knowledge of macOS, iOS, Windows, and common networking technologies.
- Practical experience managing Google Workspace, including users, Groups, directory settings, OAuth app controls, and hardening measures.
- Understanding of SaaS access administration and single sign-on concepts such as SAML, SCIM, and OAuth.
- Knowledge of network administration, firewalls, and IT security best practices.
- Awareness of cybersecurity fundamentals and data protection methods.
- Experience with IT help desk or ticketing systems.
- Strong diagnostic and problem-solving ability across hardware, software, and cloud tools.
- Clear communication and interpersonal skills for working with both technical and non-technical colleagues.
- Ability to work independently and manage several priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Good organization and attention to detail when handling multiple concurrent tasks.
- Preferred: CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+, or Google IT Support Professional certifications.
- Preferred: Experience with SOC 2 audits or compliance programs.
- Preferred: Familiarity with NIST or ISO 27001 frameworks.
- Preferred: Exposure to AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud.
- Preferred: Knowledge of ITIL service management practices.
- Preferred: Experience with remote monitoring and management tools.
- Preferred: Prior work with an MSP in a hybrid support model.
- Preferred: Background in fintech, financial services, or other regulated industries.
