Role Overview

Based at our Mississauga hub and reporting to the Transport Systems Manager, this role is essential in administering and supporting a diverse portfolio of transportation applications. Key Responsibilities

  • Utilize the ticketing system to log, prioritize, troubleshoot, route, and track application support issues, adhering to service level agreements.
  • Collaborate with Service Desk, Infrastructure, and EDI teams to provide technical assistance for related problems.
  • Conduct root cause analyses for recurring issues, delivering fixes or recommendations to prevent future occurrences.
  • Maintain application performance by coordinating updates and assessments with infrastructure, security, database administrators, and vendors.
  • Identify and drive improvements within support processes by introducing automation and simplifications.
  • Provide on-site support and training at transport terminals as needed; travel across Canadian facilities for project implementations.
  • Lead small to medium-sized projects including defining scope, objectives, deliverables, resource allocation and managing timeline changes.
  • Analyze and document system and process requirements by interfacing with stakeholders; resolve conflicts and identify gaps to offer value-adding solutions.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert for transportation systems, keeping updated on product roadmaps, evaluating enhancements and alternatives.
  • Translate business requirements into technical specifications and configure applications accordingly.
  • Develop and manage test plans, execute testing, analyze results, and ensure defect resolution.
  • Support the creation of process maps and standard operating procedures; prepare training materials and mentor Level 1 staff and trainers.
  • Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, tailoring language to the audience including vendors and non-technical users.
  • Build strong relationships with system users and leadership to facilitate adoption and advocate for system improvements.
  • Manage vendor relationships with regular updates and issue escalations to ensure prompt resolution.

Qualifications

  • Over 5 years’ experience in roles such as Support Analyst or Business Analyst with strong analytical capabilities.
  • Experience within the supply chain sector with a solid understanding of operational lifecycles influenced by technology.
  • Proficiency with transportation management systems and their integrations.
  • Excellent verbal, written, listening, and presentation communication talents.
  • Self-motivated and passionate about learning new technologies and leading change initiatives.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in cross-functional teams.
  • Skilled in multitasking across projects and support activities with priority management.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, and Project.
  • Post-secondary degree in fields such as Engineering, Sciences, or Business with an IT focus, or equivalent experience.
