Role Overview

We are seeking a Human Factors Specialist to lead efforts that ensure safe, effective supervision of multiple passenger eVTOL aircraft by a single human operator. This pivotal role involves designing, conducting, and managing human factors evaluations to guide system development and support regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work closely with cross-disciplinary teams to identify assigned operator tasks and their rationales.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive task analyses to inform user interface design and experimental planning.
  • Formulate strategies to identify and evaluate challenging human factors scenarios during testing phases.
  • Lead human factors studies from goal setting through data interpretation to recommend system requirement updates.
  • Contribute to certification efforts for Wisk’s Generation 6 eVTOL aircraft and ground control systems.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Master’s degree in Human Factors, Cognitive Ergonomics, Psychology, or related field; doctoral degree preferred.
  • At least 8 years of pertinent industry experience.
  • Profound understanding of cognitive ergonomics including perception, decision-making, and cognition.
  • Proficiency in measuring workload and human performance through subjective assessments and physiological metrics.
  • Experience in iterative evaluation of novel user interface designs.
  • Familiarity with aerospace concepts such as aircraft systems, flight operations, and regulatory standards.
  • Competent in designing both qualitative and quantitative experiments.
  • Experience using statistical software like SPSS or Stata for data preparation and analysis.
  • Knowledge of aerospace UI design guidelines and standards.

Compensation and Benefits

The anticipated annual salary range for this position is $215,000 to $269,000, with starting pay dependent on location and relevant experience aligned with business needs.
