Job Summary
This role entails cleaning and sanitizing various hospital and clinic environments in accordance with established guidelines to maintain a hygienic and orderly facility. The position also involves moving furniture, equipment, and supplies within hospital departments and buildings.
Department Overview
The Environmental Services department is responsible for delivering a professional and sanitary environment that supports healthcare operations at Samaritan Health Services. Functions include cleaning floors and carpets, performing repairs, managing equipment loans, custodial tasks, linen distribution, and waste disposal.
Experience, Education, and Qualifications
- High school diploma or an equivalent certification is preferred.
- At least one year of experience in hospital, long term care, or medical office settings is favored.
- A valid Oregon driver's license is preferred but not mandatory for every candidate.
- Employees requiring vehicle use for work must have a valid driver's license and proper auto insurance; maintaining a reliable vehicle is essential. Driving Samaritan Health Services vehicles mandates successful completion of specific driver approval processes.

Physical Demands
The role requires frequent to continual physical activities including lifting objects between 0 to 60 pounds from various heights, kneeling, sitting, climbing stairs and ladders, squatting statically and repetitively, bending, reaching, pinching, grasping, pushing and pulling with varying forces, walking on level and inclined surfaces, manual and finger dexterity, and entering or exiting vehicles or machinery.
