Position Summary
The Hotel Cleanliness Supervisor is responsible for inspecting guest rooms, public spaces, pools, and other areas after housekeeping has cleaned them to guarantee quality standards. This role involves managing sold room reports, confirming room statuses, identifying rooms with discrepancies, prioritizing room cleaning schedules, and updating the status of rooms where guests are departing. The supervisor supports housekeeping management in daily activity coordination and acts as a liaison among Housekeeping, Engineering, Front Office, and Laundry departments. They document and resolve discrepancies related to rooms with the Front Desk, prepare and distribute changes in room assignments, communicate issues to the subsequent shift, and complete all required paperwork.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, counseling, disciplining, motivating, and coaching employees within the housekeeping team.
- Adhere strictly to company policies as well as safety and security standards; promptly report maintenance issues, hazards, accidents, or injuries and complete all necessary safety training and certifications.
- Ensure personal and team member uniforms and appearances are clean and professional; uphold confidentiality of proprietary information and safeguard company assets.
- Greet and acknowledge guests following company protocols, anticipate and fulfill guest service requirements including accommodating individuals with disabilities, and extend genuine appreciation to guests.
- Maintain clear and professional communication with colleagues and management, fostering positive working relationships and responding appropriately to employee concerns.
- Guarantee compliance with quality expectations and standards in all assigned areas.
- Perform physical tasks including moving, lifting, carrying, and placing objects weighing up to 55 pounds unaided, or heavier items with assistance; operate housekeeping equipment over uneven surfaces; reach overhead and below knee level; and stand, sit, kneel, or walk for long stretches during work shifts.
- Utilize fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination to manipulate objects of varying sizes and weights; enter and retrieve information via computers or point-of-sale systems; read and verify information presented in various formats.
- Carry out other reasonable duties as assigned by supervisors.
Preferred Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.).
- Work Experience: Minimum of one year in a related field.
- Supervisory Experience: At least one year in a supervisory capacity.
- Licenses/Certifications: None required.
