- Set and enforce GitHub governance practices, covering access permissions, branch safeguards, repository management, and audit readiness.
- Support platform transitions from Jenkins, Bitbucket, or Azure DevOps into GitHub.
- Deploy GitHub Advanced Security capabilities, including scanning for code issues, detecting secrets, and managing dependency risks.
- Create and maintain GitHub Actions pipelines, reusable workflows, self-hosted or managed runners, and DevSecOps automation.
- Use deep knowledge of GitHub Enterprise, Git, GitHub APIs, and branching models to shape platform solutions.
- Work with AWS, Azure, GCP, Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud-native delivery environments.
- Provide technical direction, coach team members, and partner with business and security stakeholders.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of relevant experience in GitHub platform engineering or similar DevOps roles.
- Hands-on expertise with GitHub Enterprise, GitHub Actions, Git, CI/CD, DevSecOps, and GitHub Advanced Security.
- Practical experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and public cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Background in designing repository structures, governance controls, and secure delivery workflows.
- Experience leading migrations from legacy CI/CD or source control platforms to GitHub.
- Strong understanding of GitHub APIs and branching strategies.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with engineering, security, and business teams.
- Must hold a valid Australian visa with full work rights.
