Role Overview

The General Operative position based in Dungarvan involves assisting the EHS and Facilities teams to maintain the condition, safety, and operational functionality of Eurofins Buildings 1 and 2 and surrounding grounds. The role focuses on keeping the site tidy, organised, compliant, and ready for audits.

Work Schedule

This is a full-time role requiring 39 hours weekly. Workdays are Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday from 9:30am to 5:45pm, and Wednesday from 9:30am to 6:00pm. One Saturday shift per month is also required.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide logistical support for moving materials, equipment, and furniture within the site.
• Be available for scheduled support during building emergencies and occasional call-outs related to alarms or incidents.
• Assist with preventative and general maintenance activities as trained and per site procedures.
• Perform minor building repairs and upkeep tasks such as ceiling tile replacement, plaster repairs, and painting.
• Serve as the primary contact for site water system management, including consumables, alarm responses, and vendor coordination.
• Ensure plant rooms, storage areas, and support facilities are clean, secure, and audit-ready.
• Contribute to site security by managing access controls and securing plant rooms, outbuildings, and stores.
• Participate in pest control processes and liaise with approved vendors for inspections and treatments.
• Support inspection and maintenance of electrical safety and firefighting equipment onsite.
• Coordinate with external grounds maintenance vendors and assist in maintaining car parks and utilities areas.
• Conduct safety checks after training, such as gas compound inspections, spill kit checks, and emergency shower checks.
• Engage in health, safety, and compliance activities, including training sessions on manual handling and workstation assessments.
• Identify and recommend improvements for facilities operations and assist in implementing continuous improvement plans.
• Keep the site clean and sanitary in support of operational demands.
• Actively participate as a Fire Warden, Spill Response team member, and in Waste Management activities.

Candidate Qualifications

• Experience in GMP production, laboratory, maintenance support, or regulated facility environments is preferred.
• Prior work in general operative or site services roles is advantageous.
• Possession of a full, clean driving license is essential; forklift or materials-handling certification is favorable.
• Proficiency in Microsoft software and computer literacy.
• Strong organisational skills to prioritise and manage tasks efficiently.
• Attention to detail with a commitment to maintaining high standards of site presentation and housekeeping.
• Capable of working independently, demonstrating initiative and accountability.
• Effective communication skills for collaborating with internal teams and external vendors.
• Dependable and flexible to adapt to evolving business and site needs.
