Overview
Decipher Group Limited invites applications for the role of General Manager to lead a well-established Christchurch-based enterprise serving the construction sector with products, project management, and installation services. This leadership role offers full P&L responsibility and autonomy with support from the Board, poised to enhance operational efficiency and sustainable value.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee end-to-end business operations, reporting directly to the Board and accountable for profit and loss, margins, cash flow, and overall profitability.
- Drive improvements in productivity, operational efficiency, resource use, and process optimization.
- Enhance operational activities across procurement, warehousing, project management, and installation functions.
- Develop increased transparency and accountability concerning business, project, and sales channel outcomes.
- Lead, cultivate, and evolve team structures to support future performance goals.
- Strengthen and expand key relationships with customers and suppliers to foster profitable growth.
- Provide detailed commercial insights, recommendations, and quality reporting to the Board.
Candidate Profile
- Proven senior leadership within operationally complex small to medium enterprises, particularly in commercial construction, contracting, building products, or distribution sectors.
- Extensive experience owning P&L and demonstrating robust financial and commercial acumen.
- Track record of delivering enhanced profitability through operational excellence, cost containment, and disciplined commercial management.
- Strong analytical, leadership, and change management skills with a practical and inclusive approach.
- A strategic thinker comfortable engaging with Board level stakeholders, paired with a pragmatic, hands-on leadership style.
