General Maintenance Person

Role Overview

Cabra Castle is seeking a dedicated General Maintenance Person to join their maintenance team. The role involves ensuring mechanical and back-of-house areas are orderly, performing daily inspections in public spaces to identify issues such as defective lighting or broken items, and providing maintenance and repairs across public areas, guestrooms, and administrative offices.

Key Duties

• Maintain neatness and order in mechanical and support areas.
• Conduct daily inspections of public areas to quickly identify and resolve issues such as replacing light bulbs or repairing damaged items.
• Perform repairs and maintenance in public areas, guestrooms, and offices.
• Implement preventative maintenance programs within rooms and update records systematically.
• Ensure timely completion of projects according to specifications.
• Collaborate with the front office manager, housekeeping, and management to communicate maintenance needs affecting operations.
• Assess requirements and prepare reports or work orders in compliance with standard procedures.
• Assist with remodelling and construction projects as needed.
• Report and promptly address any real or potential hazards.

Qualifications and Skills Required

• Proven experience in general building and maintenance work.
• Skilled in minor carpentry, plumbing, structural repairs, and painting.
• Strong attention to detail focused on quality workmanship and finish aesthetics.
• Proficiency in spoken and written English.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
• Good organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines.
• Preferably owns own tools.
• Possession of a full, clean driving license.
