Job description

How You Will Make An Impact

Join the team to perform diverse tasks related to meal preparation and delivery in a correctional facility, while also maintaining cleanliness and sanitation standards.

Key Duties

  • Wash, peel, and cut fruits and vegetables according to the preparation timetable.
  • Cook or pan food items as scheduled.
  • Measure, weigh, and count ingredients designated for specific food production areas.
  • Store food properly in assigned locations, following wrapping, dating, food safety, and rotation guidelines.
  • Assemble meal trays, including special diet trays, adhering to the meal schedule.
  • Load, transport, and unload meal carts to designated pods.
  • Carry out general cleaning tasks such as washing carts, trolleys, dishes, and pots.
  • Maintain storage areas in an organized and sanitary condition.
  • Handle all equipment and food products safely and efficiently.
  • Complete additional duties during off-service periods as required.
  • Respond promptly to reasonable requests assigned by management.

Candidate Profile

  • Completed high school education or possesses a comparable blend of training, education, and experience.
  • Must successfully pass and sustain a clean criminal record check.
  • Effective communication skills in English, both spoken and written.
  • Physically capable of fulfilling job-related responsibilities.
  • Competence in operating all relevant kitchen and food service equipment.
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Practice rigorous personal food hygiene standards.
  • Able to properly give and receive instructions.
