Job Location and Schedule
This full-time Baker position is based at University of North Alabama, One Harrison Plaza, Florence, AL 35632. Applicants must apply online. The work schedule covers either Tuesday through Saturday or Sunday through Thursday, from 6:00 am to 2:00 pm, with further details provided during the interview.
Position Overview
The role involves preparing a variety of baked goods such as breads, pies, cakes, cookies, and pastries adherent to recipes and production guidelines. Baking must align with production and catering requirements for daily operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Produce baked items following approved recipes and production standards using proper equipment.
- Support production planning to fulfill daily baking needs.
- Maintain accurate production records including waste tracking, usage, and shortage reporting to supervisors.
- Ensure food quality, proper portioning, presentation, and maintain serving temperatures.
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of equipment, supplies, and workstations.
- Handle food safely and adhere to all health and safety regulations during preparation and service.
- Clean and organize work and display areas before shift end.
- Address customer concerns courteously, escalating relevant issues to supervisors.
- Manage high production volumes efficiently, maintaining accuracy and calmness.
- Adhere to safety standards including OSHA and company policies.
- Perform timely completion of shift duties as assigned.
- Other duties as directed by management.
Qualifications
Prior baking and food preparation experience is beneficial but not mandatory.
