Overview
Join Do Rogha as a Founding Trustee and play a vital role in establishing a new Irish charity focused on enhancing transparency and impact in charitable giving. Do Rogha connects donors directly with verified needs identified by frontline organizations addressing food poverty, homelessness, and household hardship throughout Ireland. This innovative model allows donors to fund specific needs, with Do Rogha overseeing procurement and delivery, ensuring tangible outcomes.
Role Expectations
As a founding trustee, you will provide vital governance and strategic oversight, guiding Do Rogha through its incorporation as a Company Limited by Guarantee (CLG) and charity registration. Collaborating closely with the Founder, your role focuses on governance, financial stewardship, and long-term strategic planning rather than daily operations.
Trustee Opportunities
- Financial Oversight & Treasurer: Shape budgets, financial policies, and controls suitable for a startup charity; oversee compliance with legal responsibilities; likely serve as Treasurer.
- Governance & Legal: Guide constitution development, compliance with trustee duties, and governance best practices; potential to serve as Secretary or governance chair.
- Community & Sector Expertise: Bring real-world understanding of sectors like food security and homelessness; validate partner verification methods; help expand sector relationships.
- Business & Partnership: Support governance and strategy; advise on organizational development, partnership building, fundraising, and digital innovation; promote transparency and accountability.
Candidate Profile
We seek individuals with relevant expertise in financial management, legal governance, nonprofit sector experience, or business development. Key qualities include strategic thinking, independent judgment, a commitment to accountability, and willingness to collaborate in building a new charity. Prior trustee experience is advantageous but not mandatory.
Commitment and Logistics
Trustees should anticipate monthly meetings during initial setup and charity registration, transitioning to quarterly meetings post-establishment. Positions are voluntary with a renewable three-year term. Reasonable expenses can be reimbursed per policy. Trustees must reside in Ireland; meetings are mainly virtual.
Application Instructions
Send your CV or professional profile along with a brief expression of interest addressing your motivation, relevant skills, and excitement about shaping a new charity to the provided contact. Applications are encouraged by August 28, 2026.
