Role Summary

We are looking for a Founding Data Scientist to join our team in the London Area. This key full-time, on-site position involves architecting and implementing fundamental models and data processing pipelines that underpin our industry intelligence platform. Responsibilities include gathering, cleaning, and organizing extensive, complex datasets; constructing and assessing both statistical and machine learning models; and establishing reliable metrics and experimental frameworks to gauge product effectiveness.

The role entails close collaboration with engineering and product teams to convert business inquiries into analytical models, develop prototype algorithms, and transition validated methods into production systems.

Qualifications

• Proven expertise in applying data science techniques to practical business challenges.
• Strong statistical skills, including experience with experimental design, hypothesis testing, and statistical modeling.
• Practical knowledge in data analytics and analysis, particularly in managing and interpreting complex data sets.
• Capability to design clear and effective data visualizations to facilitate informed decision-making.
• Advanced proficiency in Python or R programming languages and familiarity with key data science libraries such as pandas, NumPy, scikit-learn, PyTorch, or TensorFlow.
• Experience working with SQL and contemporary data infrastructures, including cloud data warehouses, ETL/ELT tools, version control systems, and reproducible data workflows.
• Track record of developing and deploying machine learning or statistical models within production environments.
• A bachelor’s degree or higher in disciplines such as Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills suited for a dynamic startup environment, with a focus on delivering impactful work.
• Familiarity with market intelligence, financial dataset domains, or other sector-specific data is advantageous, as is previous experience in startup or founding team roles.
