Role Overview
The Forward Logistics Analyst will oversee both operational processes and analytics supporting outbound distribution—from finished goods inventory at North American and EMEA distribution centers to final customer deliveries via parcel, LTL, and TL transport modes. Key objectives include optimizing transportation costs, enhancing inventory accuracy, managing third-party logistics performance, and generating actionable insights to elevate service while reducing expenses.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee inventory control at distribution centers in NA and EMEA; reconcile system discrepancies.
- Design and implement scalable cycle counting programs and lead physical inventory checks.
- Manage serialization processes for outbound goods and coordinate replenishment orders.
- Ensure compliance with SOX and revenue recognition controls related to shipments and inventory.
- Support direct partner and customer operations for Build-to-Customer business functions.
- Create and maintain performance dashboards tracking OTIF, transit times, cost efficiency, carrier rating, and KPIs for DCs.
- Analyze freight invoices weekly to detect billing anomalies, rate changes, and charge trends.
- Participate in carrier RFPs, pricing negotiations, and zone pricing analyses.
- Conduct data queries and modeling on shipment and inventory data using platforms like Trino and NetSuite.
- Develop cost-to-serve models assessing the impact of network and service choices on overall landed cost.
- Automate forward logistics workflows using Power Apps, Power Automate, and SharePoint tools.
- Coordinate regularly with carriers, brokers, and the JIT team to resolve shipment exceptions and service disruptions.
- Document SOPs, identify process improvements, and collaborate with Data Engineering and Analytics to expand data models and reporting.
Candidate Profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, or comparable experience.
- 3 to 7 years of professional experience in forward logistics, distribution, or supply chain analytics; prior consumer electronics experience advantageous.
- Proven ability in distribution operations, inventory reconciliation, and program management.
- Knowledgeable about SOX and revenue recognition as they relate to inventory and shipping transactions.
- Strong SQL abilities for handling large datasets independently using Trino, Snowflake, BigQuery, or similar platforms.
- Advanced Tableau skills for creating executive dashboards and self-service data analytics preferred.
- Experience with AI tools like Anthropic Claude for data analysis and process automation is a plus.
- Expertise in Excel and PowerPoint with advanced analytical and modeling skills.
- Familiarity with ERP systems (NetSuite preferred; Oracle Cloud ERP beneficial) and inventory management.
- Understanding of parcel and freight logistics, including USPS, FedEx, UPS, LTL/TL, and 3PL warehouse systems.
- Strong grasp of carrier pricing models, freight classes, accessorial fees, and zone structures.
- Experience with low-code automation platforms such as Power Apps and Power Automate considered valuable.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and planning capabilities with the talent to convert data insights into clear narratives.
- Detail-oriented problem solver comfortable in a dynamic and fast-paced setting with shifting priorities.
