Role Overview
An established 4-star resort in County Meath is hiring a skilled Financial Controller to join its senior leadership team. The property is known for premium guest experiences across accommodation, dining, leisure, and events, and this role will play a key part in sustaining business performance and financial discipline. This is a permanent, on-site position.
Key Responsibilities
- Take ownership of the day-to-day finance operation and overall financial management.
- Compile monthly management accounts and share financial updates with senior leadership.
- Handle budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow planning activities.
- Review financial results to spot ways to strengthen profitability.
- Work closely with department heads to support commercially sound decisions.
- Maintain effective controls and ensure compliance with statutory requirements.
- Manage payroll processing, VAT submissions, audits, and year-end accounting.
- Track operating costs, revenue trends, and working capital levels.
- Oversee finance systems and recommend improvements to processes.
- Support, coach, and develop members of the finance team.
Candidate Profile
- You must be a qualified accountant with one of the following designations: ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or CPA.
- A minimum of five years of post-qualification experience in a senior finance role is required.
- Prior experience in hospitality is essential, ideally gained in a hotel or resort setting.
- You should bring strong commercial judgement and solid financial reporting capability.
- Hands-on experience with budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management is necessary.
- Good systems knowledge and confidence using financial software are important for success in the role.
Compensation
The salary will depend on experience and is expected to be around €83,000.
