Role Overview

Wing seeks a Finance Lead to serve as the principal Business Partner supporting Manufacturing, Logistics, Supply Chain, and Engineering teams. Based hybrid in Palo Alto, CA, this role involves designing sophisticated financial models that form the foundation of the company's strategic growth plans. The ideal candidate will integrate complex engineering data into scalable unit economics, CAPEX, and COGS frameworks, providing actionable insights to leadership for decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

• Function as the strategic finance partner to leaders in Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Logistics.
• Manage the financial overview of R&D, capital expenditures, manufacturing processes, and warehouse/freight operations.
• Develop and maintain detailed cost frameworks including Bill of Materials, production yields, and inventory valuation enhancing unit economics clarity.
• Translate technical roadmaps and hardware specs into scalable financial forecasts.
• Lead forecasting, budgeting, and financial close processes while explaining the drivers behind financial variance.
• Identify and implement operational efficiencies in supply chain routes and production workflows.
• Drive adoption of AI and automation technologies to modernize financial reporting and reduce manual tasks.

Candidate Requirements

• Minimum 12 years of progressive experience in engineering or finance roles in hardware, manufacturing, or supply chain environments.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical field, or equivalent relevant experience.
• Expertise in financial modeling with advanced skills in tools like Google Sheets, specifically creating new frameworks for COGS, BOM, and production processes.
• Strong business insight to convert complex technical data into presentations and narratives suitable for executive decision-making.
• Proven leadership in managing cross-functional projects and collaborating with technical teams.
• A proactive approach to enhancing operational efficiency, focusing on automation and AI technology integration in financial functions.

Compensation and Equal Opportunity

The U.S.-based full-time position offers a base salary between 167000 and 222000 USD annually, plus bonuses, equity, and benefits. Salaries are based on role, level, and location.
