Role Responsibilities

• Shape and evolve Confluent's technical strategy alongside product and engineering teams to align with market demands.
• Deliver engaging presentations and technical briefings to diverse audiences such as engineers, developers, architects, and executives, both virtually and face-to-face.
• Establish and nurture relationships with key decision-makers and influencers within customer organizations to drive and grow Confluent platform adoption.
• Serve as a liaison between customers and product teams by gathering, prioritizing, and communicating product feedback and feature requests.
• Cultivate a vibrant user and contributor community around Confluent, enriching the ecosystem’s overall value.
• Collaborate with field teams to achieve strategic objectives across global regions and empower account teams to generate customer value effectively.

Candidate Requirements

• Minimum five years in a customer-facing technical advocacy position such as Solutions Architect, Pre-Sales Engineer, or Technical Consultant within software or data platform sectors.
• Strong technical knowledge of distributed systems, software architecture, and data streaming technologies.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with experience engaging stakeholders at all organizational levels.
• Proven ability to translate technical concepts into business advantages understandable to non-technical audiences.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Kafka or comparable streaming data platforms.
• In-depth knowledge of cloud environments including AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
• Active involvement in open-source projects or communities.
• Demonstrated leadership in cross-functional teams involved in product development or market strategies.
• Experience in dynamic, fast-growing technology companies.
• Strategic expertise in customer engagement, influencing technology leaders and decision-makers.
