Job description
Role Summary
We are looking for a highly driven and technically proficient Field Applications Engineer specializing in Thermal and Electromagnetic Interference (EMI) solutions to join our Southeast Asia team based in Singapore. The role involves selecting, qualifying, and applying thermal interface materials and EMI management materials across diverse product lines to cater to various market segments, ensuring product thermal efficiency and electromagnetic compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Champion the promotion of Thermal Interface Materials (TIM), EMI, absorbers, magnetics components, and multifunctional solutions at customer locations.
- Collaborate with engineers from OEMs, ODMs, contract manufacturers, distribution partners, and regional teams to integrate solutions for ongoing projects.
- Organize internal resources to swiftly address customers’ technical, design, and application challenges.
- Partner with the commercial team to facilitate new business growth by providing technical assistance within the region.
- Support marketing activities including exhibitions and promotional events.
- Willingness to travel extensively within Southeast Asia for onsite customer support.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisors or management.
Candidate Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, Chemistry, or related fields.
- 3 to 5 years of practical experience in thermal management and/or EMC engineering related to data centers, telecommunications, automotive, industrial, and medical sectors.
- Hands-on expertise in selecting and qualifying thermal interface materials such as thermal pads, phase change materials, thermal grease, and liquid gap fillers.
- Proven experience in EMI materials usage including fabric-over-foam gaskets, absorbers, magnetic shielding, conductive foils/tapes, precision metals, and board-level shields.
- Knowledge of industry-standard testing protocols such as ASTM, IEEE, and MIL-STD for thermal and EMI materials.
- Preferred experience in material characterization, application dispensing, automated assembly, and failure analysis.
- Familiarity with 3D modeling, thermal simulations, EMI testing, and finite element analysis is advantageous.
- Commitment to continuously update skills to maintain competitive edge in a dynamic global market.
- Strong communicator with the ability to clearly present technical information to engineers and management.
- Self-motivated and capable of managing multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.
- Experience with CRM software, specifically Salesforce, to monitor project progress.
