Position Overview
The Events Management Specialist is vital in organizing top-tier events that foster connections among advisers, employees, partners, and the broader community. Positioned within the People & Culture team and working closely with Corporate Affairs, this role spearheads the planning and execution of events aligned with AIA New Zealand's mission, brand, and business objectives. It offers chances to cultivate trust throughout the organization, collaborate with senior leadership and external partners, and utilize feedback to consistently improve event quality and influence while mentoring team members.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee comprehensive event planning and delivery ensuring alignment with business goals, audience interests, and AIA’s purpose to generate valuable engagement.
- Establish and nurture strong partnerships with leadership, colleagues, and external vendors to ensure smooth and memorable event experiences.
- Manage logistics, communication, travel, venue arrangements, and supplier coordination to guarantee successful events and participant satisfaction.
- Administer event budgets with responsibility, balancing quality and value while maintaining robust financial controls.
- Evaluate event outcomes, gather feedback, and analyze program data to discover enhancements for future events and stakeholder involvement.
- Guide and assist the Events Coordinator, enhancing team skills and fostering a cooperative work environment.
Required Skills and Experience
- Proven experience managing events from initial idea through to delivery, focusing on high quality, participant experience, and targeted outcomes.
- Excellent organization and time management abilities to juggle several priorities and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
- Strong collaboration skills with the capacity to build trust with diverse stakeholders, including senior leaders and external partners.
- Sound judgment in budget management, operational execution, risk mitigation, and competing priorities, with careful attention to details.
- A commitment to continual improvement through data analysis, participant feedback, and market trends to boost event success and engagement.
- Preferred background in financial services, professional services, communications, or marketing with relevant academic credentials.
