About the Role
Searcys seeks an experienced Event Operations Manager to lead and oversee daily operations at the Surveyors House at RICS in London. This senior position involves managing venue activities, fostering team growth, and ensuring exemplary service at a historic site offering spaces for conferences, meetings, receptions, weddings, and dinners.
Venue Details
Located in Westminster with iconic views including Big Ben and the Palace of Westminster, Surveyors House is a Victorian building operating alongside The Westminster Rooms at No. 11 Great George Street, reflecting a commitment to excellence by the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors.
Responsibilities
- Plan and ensure event setups conform precisely to event requirements.
- Oversee and guarantee timely execution of events as per the event specifications.
- Participate actively in daily and weekly operations meetings to coordinate event delivery.
- Collaborate effectively with kitchen, sales, operations, and client teams to ensure event success.
- Engage in short- and long-term event and sales planning and management.
- Assess event proposals for feasibility in providing quality service.
- Develop innovative event ideas utilizing internal resources or partnering with external vendors.
- Lead the event team to cultivate lasting, value-driven customer partnerships that support sales targets.
Qualifications and Skills
- Minimum of two years' experience in event management roles.
- Comprehensive knowledge of event and meeting management from inception to execution.
- Ability to prioritize multiple projects in a dynamic, creative environment and perform under pressure.
- Flexible working hours including early mornings and evenings, predominantly Monday to Friday.
- Strong organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Adaptable with a problem-solving mindset.
- Strong strategic thinking and critical analysis capabilities.
- Positive, creative, self-motivated, team-oriented and composed under pressure.
