Role Overview
We are seeking a motivated Estimator based in Hume, ACT, responsible for preparing precise and competitive tenders and quotations. This role involves close collaboration with Sales and Business Development teams to secure projects and strengthen client relationships while contributing to business growth across varied projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and submit responses to Requests for Tender (RFT) and Requests for Quotation (RFQ) within designated deadlines.
- Develop comprehensive, first-principles based cost estimates adhering to company guidelines.
- Examine contract documents and drawings to identify potential risks and opportunities.
- Draft tender qualifications and conditions for internal review.
- Present tender submissions during review sessions and engage in strategy discussions.
- Work collaboratively with Sales, Business Development, Account Management, and operations teams to prioritize workloads supporting business objectives.
- Foster and maintain strong client relationships while pursuing new business avenues.
- Manage tender pipelines, databases, and client portals to facilitate forecasting and winning business.
Candidate Profile
- At least 12 months of experience in estimating, site engineering, or a related project delivery role.
- Experience in roads construction, civil infrastructure, or similar industries is highly desirable.
- Strong mathematical and analytical skills with expertise in developing first-principles estimates.
- Excellent organizational, planning, and time management abilities.
- Ability to build effective relationships with both internal teams and external clients.
- Commercially aware with a proactive attitude toward identifying new opportunities.
- Effective communication and presentation skills.
- Strategic thinker with meticulous attention to detail and a collaborative approach to working.
