Role overview

Lister Fertility Clinic at The Lister Hospital is looking for an Embryologist for a 12-month fixed-term assignment. The post is based in London and involves 37.5 hours a week, Monday to Friday, with rotating weekends. You will also be expected to take part in an on-call rota for cryo alarms.

The salary is listed as competitive.

What the role involves

In this position, you will support the delivery of safe, effective, patient-focused fertility care alongside the wider clinical team. The work covers the full routine embryology workflow within the fertility unit, together with laboratory upkeep and administrative duties.

• Handle oocytes and embryos as part of routine laboratory work.
• Carry out fertilisation reviews and checks.
• Support embryo culture activities.
• Assess and grade embryos.
• Manage cryopreservation procedures.
• Complete routine laboratory maintenance and related administration.

What you need

Applicants should have a strong scientific and clinical background, with knowledge of the relevant regulations and quality standards used in fertility practice.

• A BSc in Life Science is required.
• Candidates who have completed the STP programme are suitable, or those with at least 2 years of Embryologist experience.
• Good understanding of HFEA regulations, clinic SOPs, and quality management systems is essential.
• Clinical ICSI experience is required.
• Biopsy training is preferred but not mandatory.
